English alternative-pop band from London, Flyte, consisting of Will Taylor (lead vocals, guitar), Jon Supran (drums, backing vocals), and Nicolas Hill (bass, backing vocals), have released a brand new video for ‘I’ve Got A Girl’. Taking the lead role in the music video is Shameless star, Tina Malone. Fun fact: Tina escaped her hospital bed that day to be on the shoot. On arrival, she exclaimed: “I love this song and I need to be allowed to work, otherwise I’ll fucking die!”
Flyte’s latest track first premiered on Lauren Laverne’s BBC 6 Music show and promises the pop band’s next big body of work. To their intensely loyal fanbase, Flyte are something of a well-kept secret. In recent times, Florence Pugh, Bon Iver, Paul Mescal, and even Lewis Capaldi have all shown their love for the band. They’ve already worked with a range of collaborators, such as producer Justin Raisen (Angel Olsen, Ariel Pink), Andrew Sarlo (Big Thief, Bon Iver), and mixing engineer Ali Chant (Aldous Harding), during their recording sessions in L.A. First releases ‘Easy Tiger’ and ‘Losing You’ served as an introduction to a remarkably poignant breakup record, following a tumultuous year for singer Will Taylor. ‘I’ve Got A Girl’ depicts the eroding of a different kind of relationship; breaking up with a band member.
“We knew we wanted the video to feel as spiteful as the song itself and were at pains to make sure the band were the ones under attack – like we were in the middle of a collective anxiety dream. It’s abstract and it’s harrowing. It’s everything a nightmare’s supposed to be” says lead singer Will Taylor.
